Welcome to the Merrill Trust

We are pleased to present the portfolio of Merrill Trust and affiliates’ projects (collectively “Merrill Trust” or “Trust”) describing our ownership, planning, and development history with respect to our various mixed-use master-planned communities, resorts, real estate, and other investments.

Over the past 50 years, Merrill Trust has owned a very powerful array of real estate assets for investment, planning, development, and long-term ownership. The total built-out development value of these owned or previously owned assets far exceeds $60 billion.

In Metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona and Atlanta, Georgia, Merrill Trust owned over 33,000 acres of master-planned communities which were zoned and entitled by the Trust for over 133,000 lots which will be developed over the next four decades making the Trust at that time the largest private owner of entitled lots in the United States. As part of its master-planned communities, Merrill Trust also owned over 2,200 acres of commercial property which will be ultimately developed into 22 million square feet of commercial space. Merrill Trust currently owns 7,000 acres entitled for 42,000 lots authorized with over $1.1 billion of tax-exempt bond reimbursement for public infrastructure held for long-term development in Arizona. The Trust is also a partner in Desert Color which is a 3300 acre 12,000 lot master-planned community in St. George, Utah which is a joint venture with the Utah Division of State Lands. 

In the Cities of Chattahoochee Hills and Palmetto in Metropolitan Atlanta, only 17 miles from Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the busiest airport in the world, Merrill Trust currently owns Merrill Park, a 2,000-acre mixed-use master-planned community planned for 12,000,000 to 15,000,000 square feet of commercial space for offices, hotels, and retail and over 6,500 residential lots. This $10 billion development is located in the center of the powerful Georgia Aerotropolis Corridor. 

The Trust’s 1,100 acre Foxhall Resort is a beautiful and unique lifestyle and sporting resort located on the Chattahoochee River in the City of Chattahoochee Hills in Metropolitan Atlanta. Foxhall is the western anchor of the $100 Billion Georgia Aerotropolis Corridor which will become one the largest economic development projects in the United States. Foxhall enjoys the largest resort zoning in the history of Atlanta with approval for over 3,000 hotel rooms and 1,000 residential lots. Among other Merrill Trust assets are Catatoga Resort in Lake Toxaway, NC, 500 acres remaining in Sky Valley Resort in the Georgia Mountains, and Daytona Beach Resort and Conference Center.
